Filling (Liquids)

Internal Valve Vacuum Fillers are suitable to fill liquid or thick products, with or without suspended solids. Vacuum Fillers are designed to fill up metallic or glass recipients that already contain solid product, with a preserving liquid such as brine. Vacuum Fillers are classified as “internal valve” when the filling valves are inside the tank and as “external valve” when the valves are outside. The Vacuum Fillers are equipped with a system to create vacuum by means of a dedicated pump and rotary distributor.  This system expels the air from the containers and then fills them up with the preserving liquid. During its operating cycle, a table top chain conveyor leads the containers to the variable pitch feeding worm screw that facilitates their introduction. The feeding worm screw is synchronised with the inlet star that transfers the containers to the Filler. At the beginning of the filling area, the containers activate the “no can – no fill” device for access to the first phase of the operating cycle. The filling operation is regulated by a lever that commands the opening of the filling valve to allow the preserving liquid to flow from the tank into the containers. Once the final phase is complete, the containers are transferred to the Seamer or Capper.

Gravity Fillers - this strong and reliable type of machine has been studied to fill liquid and semi-thick products into rigid glass, aluminum, plastic or tinplate containers. The containers may be filled completely, or filled with a preserving liquid, when products such as fruit, peeled tomatoes, vegetables, etc., are already present in the container.During its operating cycle, a table top chain conveys the containers to the variable pitch feeding screw, equipped with shock-absorber to facilitate their entrance, synchronized with the filler’s inlet star. At the beginning of the filling area, the container is raised by a plate that brings it into contact with the filling valves.A further short elevation of the container determines the valve opening, that allows the product to flow into the container. Once filling is complete, the descent of the container allows a spring to bring the valve back to its closed position. Once the final phase is completed, the containers are transferred to the seamer or capper.

Laminar Flow Fillers are suitable to fill liquid products, such as brine, sugar syrup or tomato sauce, into empty or partially-filled containers.  These may contain whole, diced or sliced products. During its operating cycle, the containers arrive under the filling group by means of a conveyor belt, fed at a constant speed. The product coming from the feeding tank is transferred via a centrifugal pump to the group that fills the underlying containers. After having being filtered, the excess product is collected in the tank below the filling group and recovered through a centrifugal pump. The machine may be equipped with a “no can – no fill” device that allows the product to be filled only when the container is present. Once the final step is completed, the containers are transferred to the successive processing phase.
