The chip breaker takes the waste potato chips (crisps) from the optical sorter waste stream and breaks them down into crumb size pieces to give more room in compactors or next disposal stage.

This reduces the frequency of operators emptying the bins next to the line and bin traffic area. There is also an optional weighing section hopper that bolts on above the breaker enabling the waste weight data to be recorded.
