The Company

Flo-Mech provides a complete range of products and services to a wide sector of the food processing industry, both in the UK, Republic of Ireland, and in other parts of the World. We have supplied systems and services as far afield as Japan and China, North and South America, South Africa, Eastern and Western Europe and Australia.

The Department

Due to continued success and growth we are looking for an experienced engineer, preferably from the food sector, to join our successful operation to contribute to the quality of our service. Working with an established team of other dynamic Service/Technical Support Engineers within the food processing industry.

Flo-Mech service and support needs are currently spread world-wide including UK, Spain, Russia, Romania, South Africa, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Pakistan.

The Role

Working mostly on your own initiative, with support from our close-knit support team as necessary, fulfilling all the needs associated with the servicing and maintenance of mechanical process equipment and the associated ancillary equipment that are typically utilised in the food processing industry.

A typical Service engineer’s role starts with carrying out planned maintenance of a unit/installation through to unplanned call outs and also includes for full commissioning support for new/refurbished units.

Additional to the above there is also a need support other activities within the company which includes for small standalone projects and supporting some of the technical activities of our busy projects team.

Candidate Attributes

  • Minimum ONC/OND or equivalent qualification in engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years industry experience (Electrical/mechanical/process bias).
  • Preferably from the food, pharmaceutical or other relating process industry.
  • A strong “hands-on” engineering background.
  • Good electrical knowledge/background, preferably with appropriate qualifications
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic and flexible approach and willing to travel (at time on extended durations)
  • Excellent people skills and clear communicator with the ability to form strong customer relationships.
  • Computer literate/comfortable with working knowledge of Microsoft Office range of programs

The Package

  • Working with a dynamic team of enthusiastic engineers working under own initiative.
  • Varied travel opportunities
  • Starting base salary of up to £32,000 depending on experience. As a significant amount of overtime will be worked, P60 earnings will be considerably higher, OTE £60k plus.
  • Weekend overtime of x1.5 and Bank Holiday @ x2
  • Company van. Expenses paid by the company with private mileage paid by the user at the prevailing rate if applicable
  • 20 days holiday January to December plus 1 day for each year served to maximum 26 plus public holidays.
  • Travel expenses covered by the Company

  • Yearly ‘company performance related’ bonus scheme
  • Other working tools such as Mobile Phone, note-book computer etc provided
